Jam Nights at the Fox & Hounds, Shildon

We run jam sessions every four weeks on Monday evenings, from 8.30pm.

The jamming idea came from local Shildon guitarist Mel Lewis, former lead guitar with Sixties group The Downliners Sect..

“I’ve just finished two and a half years teaching guitar to prisoners,” said Mel, ex-editor of Guitarist magazine. “I missed the crack and this is a great way to recapture that buzz, and right on my doorstep!”

“We’re looking for confident musicians, electric or acoustic, young or old. Guitar, keyboard, brass – players of all types are welcome. Blues, rock, folk, jazz, country, whatever.

“Got a new song … own composition you want to try on an audience? This is a good place to strut your stuff.

“We’re a bit light as yet on house gear (amps, mikes, etc). Bring your own to be on the safe side.”
